Thailand, Hong Kong, and Southern China Trip in March, 2007

(The following pages were recreated from notes that I took while I was on the trip.)

Pictures         Text

This was my fifth trip to Thailand and my first trip to Hong Kong and China.   Some
highlights of the trip were
(in no particular order) --

  1. Visiting my Thai friend's family
  2. Going to Hong Kong and China for the first time
  3. Eating durian for the first time
National/International Crisis
This time, the problems involved fanatical Muslims in southern Thailand killing people
and pollution in northern
Thailand from farmers burning their harvested crops.   Regarding the fanatical Muslims,
for the first time, they killed civilians instead of government, military, or educational
personnel.   Regarding the pollution, it was so bad that the highest-ranking official in
Chiangmai declared a state of emergency.

As I have mentioned on other pages that I have created on my Web site, I discovered that
my friends and family who use AOL's software are not able to access the pages if they
contain pictures.   With that in mind, I have created 2 set of pages here.   One contains
pictures and the other contains text.   Sorry for the inconvenience.
