The Pier Mount With The Tube
The tube is 6 feet long, the primary mirror is 10 inches in diameter, giving the
telescope an f/7.2 focal ratio. (One
of my friends refers to it as
"The F/25".) Yes, unfortunately, a ladder is
needed most of the time while viewing.
Considering the compliments that
I've received regarding the images provided by the telescope (especially while
tracking objects with this mount), I think that it was worth the time and
effort (and frustrations). You're welcome
to take a look if you're
ever in the San Diego area.
